Clients regularly come to me with a fingerprint that is difficult or impossible to transfer to a piece of jewellery.
That touches me enormously, then you have a print and you can't make what you would like so much to be able to carry your loved one with you....
Therefore, I would like to share some tips with you so that you know what is important when the time comes.
Fortunately, there are many funeral directors who provide very good guidance, but experience has shown that not every funeral director knows exactly the possibilities of commemorative jewellery.
Always make a "flat" print on paper or digital or have one made. A print in wax may also be nice to have but it is very limited in the possibilities to make a nice piece of jewellery. So make sure you always have both if you also want to have a print made in wax.
My advice is always to make a nice print when you are alive, then you will always have it nicely preserved. Beautiful fingerprints can be made of children at a very young age and you could also make a hand or footprint. Always take a sharp photo so that you have at least saved it twice. It is also nice to keep a small lock of hair of your beloved person or animal, or a piece of cloth and a nice piece of written text. It is often only when you lose someone that you know exactly what it is that makes you feel like you are carrying your loved one with you.
If you would like to make beautiful fingerprints yourself, there are special sets with detailed instructions from 6.95 including shipping costs. For hand, foot or paw prints, there are sets from 8.95.
This way you can be sure that you can carry your loved one with you whenever you need to.
